Why RISE exists

Of Morgan State students finish in four years. RISE exists to move that number.

Scholars do not fail because they are not capable. They fail because they do not have the right people around them at the right time. RISE makes the right people, the right resources, and the right support a structure instead of a matter of luck.

At most schools you can stop coming and nothing notices for a semester. In RISE, going quiet triggers a person, not a process.

Structure is the houses and the rhythm. Encouragement is the mentor who reaches out. The good kind of pressure is a few people who will notice, and who you do not want to let down.

Scholar Advocacy

Speaking and acting for scholars against institutional friction: tutoring coverage, advising, dining, food insecurity, and mental health. Pressure on the institution and a patch for the gap at the same time.

Resource Awareness

A financial aid office, an emergency fund, a food pantry: none of it helps a scholar who does not know it exists. We close that distance. See the resources.
